The Art Institute is the second-largest art museum in the country, and for the fifth year in a row, it ranks among the top five museums in the world according to the TripAdvisor travelers. With galleries filled with everything from America’s greatest collection of Impressionist paintings to extraordinary works by modern masters, the museum also presents 30 special exhibitions a year, as well as hundreds of gallery talks, lectures, performances, and events.
During Museum Week, visit your favorites from our collection or join us for special exhibitions like Rodin: Sculptor and Storyteller, a focused exhibition that brings together sculptures and drawings from private collections and the museum’s holdings to explore the artist’s creative process and his narrative skill.
As part of Free Winter Weekdays, all Chicago and Illinois residents receive FREE museum admission on January 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26.
LINK and WIC cardholders receive free general admission to the museum. Present your card along with a valid photo ID to receive free access for you and your family.
